I’m lost. I want to tie into the world of higher education marketing through the web and find a world so large and uncharted I hardly know where to begin.
Look I’ve been photographing institutions for 15 years and I thought I had a pretty good idea of what the needs were to do my work. I also photograph everything digital. Now, after recently Googling higher ed marketing, I’m lost. Social networking, twittering, wikkis, podcasting and the list goes on. All of this is a lot of “stuff”. I suppose from my perspective I want to understand where all of this leads. Is it a complex question that needs an answer or a simple question being made complex?
My first reaction is that just asking the above question should give me a hint but so far nothing. The goal is the same now as it was 10 years ago: Recruiting qualified and motivated students to an institution. I think I might want to ponder this and have more to say in the near future.
In the meantime, I’ll keep working my contacts and reading other opinions and see what’s out there.
