Yes, I can attest to some fine dining options on college campuses. I had a great steak at Purdue and some jam up stir-fry at Sewanee:The University of the South. But rather than play the listicle game, let’s consider some of the chow available in college towns.
I spent a couple of days in Youngstown, OH last fall and I can testify that these folks know pub food, The Federal had one over the top burger. I’ll be returning to Selinsgrove, PA and Susquehanna University this week. The great folks there gave me a gift certificate to BJ’s Oyster Bar. I got to sample some tasty, fresh bi-valves from the northeast. Even in the middle of America, at Central College; Pella, IA has a tasty Dutch deli called Ulrich’s.
So here’s what I think when you say: Berry College, Rome, GA , Schroeder’s Deli, Wagner College, Staten Island, NY, Joe and Pat’s Pizza, St. Gregory’s University, Shawnee, OK, Van’s Pig Stand. There are tons of others,if you have a favorite let’s start a list.
