Dan Shi’s college search was epic. He toured 55 college campuses and filled out 24 applications to find the perfect fit. His story was told in the July 20, 2012 New York Time article, “Extreme Touring”, by Carolyn Bucior.
In some ways Dan’s journey is a template for making that perfect college fit, it’s the excessive nature that makes the story interesting on one level. But the fact that he applied to 22 engineering schools and decides on Macalester College, reveals what really matters in the end: the right fit.
Good photography that reveals the unique culture, community and scholarship must be a part of what Dan saw even before he stepped foot on the Macalester campus.
